Gavi gave Barcelona the lead in the 21st minute by scoring a beautiful goal through a header.
Atletico’s repeated attempts to return to the game were unsuccessful.

Ferran Torres’ strike hit the post and came back, but Araujo tried on the rebound and found the net.

But on the same occasion, the corner was awarded to Atletico which turned into the goal.

Dani Alves was sent off in the 69th minute. He fouled Carrasco near Barcelona’s penalty area.
After winning today’s game, Barcelona has risen to the fourth position in La Liga, trailing Atletico by two points.
Real Madrid tops the table with 50 points from 22 games.
Sevilla, who have played one game more than Real, are second with 47 points, while Real Betis, who have played 22 games, are third in La Liga with 40 points.
