Host country Nepal made a comfortable win in the last match against Malaysia of the Tri-Nation T20I series.
Nepal defeated Malaysia by 85 runs and walk to the final of the ongoing Tri-Nation T20I series remaining undefeated.
Batting first, Nepal scored a huge target of 224 runs.
Allrounder Dipendra Singh Airee played his maiden T20I century innings with a score of 110* (57).
Rohit Paudel made 51 of 34 balls which helped Nepal to set the huge target against Malaysia.
Muhammad Amir, Syazrul Idrus, Pavandeep Singh, and Muhammad Wafiq got one wicket each.
In the target chase, Malaysian batters were summed up in 19.5 overs making just 138 runs.
Opener Virandeep Singh played a vital role totaling 47 runs off 26 balls but was caught out by Aasif Sheikh of Kamal Singh Airee bowling spell.
Malaysia’s Skipper Ahmad Faiz was the other batter who made a big score against Nepal.
Faiz scored 33 in 31 balls with the help of 3 fours.
Nepal’s Skipper Sandeep Lamichhane led the bowling for Nepal with 3 wickets.
Besides Lamichhane, Kamal Singh Airee and Dipendra Singh Airee got 2 wickets each.
Kushal Bhurtel and Rohit Paudel were the other two bowlers who took wickets for Nepal.
Losing against Nepal, Malaysia couldn’t make it to the final. Playing 4 matches, Malaysia registered their only win in the second match against Papua New Guinea (PNG).
Meanwhile, PNG, who has collected two points defeating Malaysia in their fourth match, made into the final of the series-winning over Malaysia in run rate.
Each team played four matches as the Tri-Nation T20I series was played in the double round-robin.
Nepal and PNG will be locking horns in the final of the Tri-Nations T20I series.
Host Nepal will be eyeing the third consecutive win against PNG while PNG will be looking for the end of the losing journey.
Just before the ongoing T20I series, PNG had clean swept the two ODI match series against Nepal.
PNG, subjected as a difficult opponent for Nepal failed to continue their winning momentum, they lost both the matches against Nepal in the ongoing series.
The final of the series will be played on Monday at TU Cricket Ground, Kirtipur.
