There are 87 self-made billionaires under the age of 40 in the world.
Hurun Report today, in association with Shanghai-based Hywin Wealth, released the Hurun Global Forty and Under Self-Made Billionaires 2022, a ranking of the self-made US dollar billionaires forty years and under currently found in the world.
Hurun Research found 87 self-made billionaires in the world aged 40 or under, up 8 on last year. They came from 11 countries, up 1 on last year. Mark Zuckerberg, 37, is the world’s number one Self-Made Billionaire under 40 and Zhang Yiming, the 39-year-old Tiktak founder, is second on the list.
The United States tops the list with 37 billionaires. China is in second place with 25 billionaires. With eight billionaires, the UK is in third place. Similarly, India ranks fourth in this list with 6 billionaires.
There are seven women under the age of 40 in the Global Forty Under Self Made Billionaire in the World 2022.
Lu Yiwen, 35, of the Chinese diamond brand DR, is the first female billionaire under the age of 40, and Whitney Wolf Herd, the 32-year-old founder of Bumble, is the world’s youngest self-made female billionaire.
