Saraswoti Youth Club (SYC) tops the points table of the ongoing Martyr’s Memorial B Division League playing a 1-1 draw against Jhamsikhel Youth Club (JYC) today.
In the second match of the day, SYC had taken the lead but was forced to settle for the draw after JYC netted the comeback goal in the injury time before the first half.
Sanjeev Lama scored the opener for SYC in the 22nd minute but Tirtha Bahadur fired into the net and equalized the game.
No goals were produced in the second half and both teams were forced to take only one point each.
Saraswoti who played the second match in the ongoing B Division League has collected 4 points and is at the top of the table.
Jhamsikhel, who lost the first game drew against Saraswoti and collected the very first point in the league.
With two games played, JYC is in the 9th position with a single point in hand.
In the first match played today, Madhyapur Youth Association (MYA) defeated the newly promoted Samajik Youth Club (SYC) 5-2.
Sunny Lama scored the opener for the MYA in the fourth minute. Sanjib Thapa doubled the lead in the 8th minute.
But SYC came back into the game scoring two goals in 5 minutes.
Bikash Darji netted in the 16th minute for SYC.
Basanta Bahadur Rana equalized the score in the 21st minute of the match.
But Sanjib scored another in the added minute of the first half and completed a brace against SYC.
MYA dominated the second half against SYC and added two more goals making the score 5-2.
In the 54th minute, Dhiraj Shrestha added the fourth for MYA and the 5th was scored by Jenish Prajapati in the 74th minute.
With the victory, MYA gained the 3rd position and SYA started the league residing at 13th position.
Three matches will be played tomorrow in the League.
Shree Bhagawati Club will play against Boys Union Club while the second match will be played between Bansbari Club and Tushal Youth Club.
In the third match, Birgunj United will lock horns against Nayabasti Youth Club.
All three games will be played at ANFA Complex.
