A case has been filed in a special court against Hari Khadka, former captain of the Nepali men’s national football team, alleging that he got a job in the police by submitting fake educational papers.
A team of the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) said in a statement on Wednesday that a case has been filed against the Khadka revealing that the secondary level educational certificate submitted by him is fake.
CIAA claims Khadka’s educational qualification (IA) which was issued from Uttar Pradesh, India, is fake. Accused Khadka had been appointed as Assistant Sub Inspector of Police (ASI) through open competition on November 20, 2008, by presenting the same educational certificate.
Promoted to the post of Sub Inspector of Police on December 3, 2009, Khadka was posted in the Metropolitan Police Battalion No.2 and was working in the Central Sports Activities at the National Police Training Academy.
Before the retirement from the police service: Khadka played professional football for the Nepal Police Club from 2003 to 2006.
He had also played the managerial role of the same club (NPC), and also was the head coach of the Nepali women’s national team.
Khadka was also appointed as a board member of the National Sports Council (NSC) from the cabinet meeting.
He is a legendary player in the Nepali sports world.
Khadka, who represented Nepal in the jersey of blue and red, is the joint highest-scorers for Nepal in international football with Nirajan Raymajhi.
Khadka was on the field in Nepali’s jerseys from 1995 to 2006 and has scored 13 goals in 41 games.
