The Ministry of Health and Population has stated that it does not plan to impose an immediate lockdown.
At a meeting of the House of Representatives, Education and Health Committee on Tuesday, Dr. Roshan Pokhrel, Secretary of Ministry said that the ministry was against the ban. According to him, the ministry was clear that the country’s booming economy would not deteriorate again.
“If some areas have to be closed, they can be closed for two or three weeks”, He said. Till now, Nepal has recorded over 868,213 cases including 11,624 deaths and 817,547 recoveries.
