Bhutanese forward Chencho Gyeltshen is set to be the most expensive player in the Nepali ‘A’ division football league.
The defending champion of the league, Machhindra Football Club, will make a contract with Gyeltshen for a salary of five thousand US dollars (650,000 NPR) per month which will set him as the most expensive player ever in the league.
Before Gyeltshen, African players in the league were getting high wages (approx fifteen hundred US dollars per month).
26-year-old Gyeltshen has played professional football for 13 clubs in Bhutan, India, Thailand, and Bangladesh.
Gyeltshen, the captain of the Bhutan national football team, has played 36 matches for the country and has scored 10 goals.
