A well-equipped birthing centre has come into operation at Koshi Hospital in Biratnagar.
According to The medical superintendent of Koshi Hospital, Dr. Chuman Lal Das, all kinds of maternity services will be provided from the birthing center.
In addition to Normal maternity service complicated deliveries, surgical deliveries, as well as safe abortion services, are also available.
Apart from this, other gynecological problems including uterine prolapse will also be treated, he said.
Koshi Hospital’s specialist doctors and nurses are currently working for the birthing center.
The newly-constructed maternity hospital building has 71 beds, operation theaters, post-operation, postnatal, and various other facilities.
Minister for Health and Population Virodh Khatiwada inaugurated the birthing center on Sunday after the building was completed and the service came into operation.
The newly-constructed birthing center was handed over to Koshi Hospital on February 4. The birthing center was built by the US military with the help of the US embassy inside the hospital premises.
The birthing center has been constructed at a cost of around 120 million.
